GREAT DANES OF DISTINCTION
breeder, in the small town of Dwight,
Ill. At the time we scheduled to meet, we had no idea that there
was a Harvest festival in the town. Here we were at this crowded
old fashion train depot scanning the crowd for a lady with a
five month old Great Dane puppy. At long last, we found her with
a large puppy. At first I wasn't sure, but when Melo lifted her front paw
in the Great Dane greeting, I knew she was destined to be my
close companion. Melo was a very intelligent, sweet
lady. To me, she had always represented great wisdom and female
prowess. She was the grand old dam of the house.
Since Melo, we have bred several litters, shown our top picks, and made many friends. We are Members of the Great Dane Club of America. We only breed a litter when we want a puppy for own home and kennel. The one focus we try to maintain is, "It is all about the dog and what is best for the dog". We are Great Dane advocates, and this is how we view prospective homes. We always keep ourselves available to new owners, and anyone with Great Dane interests. We have adapted our personal lives because this is our passion.
It's been a crazy
life. We have cried, been angered, laughed, loved and sang.
